Frequently-asked questions:

What does this data set describe?

Title:
2006 1-meter Natural Color Digital Orthoimagery Series of North Idaho

Abstract:
This is a series-level metadata record describing all 865 digital orthoimages in the 2006 1-meter Natural Color Digital Orthoimagery Series of North Idaho. The natural color (3-band RGB) ortho rectified images in this series have a 1-meter ground sample distance (GSD). The tiling format of the images in this series are the USGS 3.75' x 3.75' quadrangle with a buffer on all four sides. The images in this series are rectified to the UTM coordinate system NAD83. The bounding coordinates of this metadata record represent the extent all images in the series.

Why was the data set created?

The majority of the imagery in this series was acquired in support of the Idaho Department of Water Resources' (IDWR) Northern Idaho Adjudication (NIA). The NIA covers those basins north of the Clearwater basin, including the Palouse River basin. The imagery will be used to guide delineation of areas of water use claimed in the NIA. Additional imagery within the Clearwater basin was acquired by Potlatch to cover lands they own.
