Why was the data set created?

The data is intended for geographic display and analysis at the county level.  It is intended for general cartographic and GIS purposes.

This map was compiled and published by Nez Perce County Mapping Services.  Care was taken in compiling these maps.  However, due to the differing quality of source documents and the need to rely on outside sources of information, Nez Perce County Mapping Services cannot accept responsibility for errors or omissions, and therefore there are no warranties which accompany these materials.

    This data set has been reveiwed to assure it contains the all the major streams, creeks, rivers, and gulches for Nez Perce County.  The hydrographic features are based off original Idaho Dept of Water Resources line work, and further refined using NAIP2004 imagery and Avista imagery.  Names were verified from the USGS quads and local citizens.

  5. How consistent are the relationships among the observations, including topology?

    This data has been reveiwed by the County Mapper, GIS Specialists, and other County personnel for the validity of values and relationships.
