Snowmobile Trails of Idaho

Frequently-asked questions:

What does this data set describe?

Title:
Snowmobile Trails of Idaho

Abstract:
The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) provides overall administration of groomed snowmobile trails in Idaho. The department processes and distributes registration fees to the individual county programs. The IDPR also provides grooming equipment to those county programs.

This shapefile provides an overall picture of groomed snowmobile trails in Idaho in 2005-2006. Some trails may change from year to year due to snowfall or changes to the local grooming schedule.

Supplemental information:
This information was obtained from a variety of sources. Sources included the United States Forest Service and local Idaho Grooming Programs. Some routes may no longer be groomed because of a lack of snow or changes to the local grooming schedule. These trails may or may not be opened to snowmobile use. Contact the local land manager for specific travel route information.
